Burning candles are associated with a romantic holiday with us, create an intimate atmosphere of comfort and harmony, contribute to the relaxation of the whole organism. Self-made candles will bring the warmth of the soul to the room. There are many ways to make candles at home. Vintage candles will give the interior an elegant and unique look. With such accessories you can diversify the festive atmosphere in any room.

Vintage candles in a ceramic cup are an unusual piece of decor. You can make it without difficulty at home, using any improvised means. For this we need:

  1. ceramic cup;
  2. wax flakes (you can grate ordinary candles on a grater);
  3. the container in which the wax will dissolve;
  4. wick (you can use a ready-made wick from a candle or cotton threads);
  5. a flat wooden stick for attaching the wick (an ice cream stick is suitable);
  6. wooden spatula for mixing wax;
  7. Scotch;
  8. food coloring;
  9. aromatic oil;
  10. household protective gloves.

Work Stages:

  1. Prepare dishes that suit the style of your project. We use a dark brown ceramic cup, as vintage style involves the spirit of antiquity and antiques:
  1. Attach the wick to the wooden stick in the middle with tape and lower it to the bottom of the cup so that the ends of the stick lie on the edges of the cup:
  1. Melt the wax in a water bath or in a double boiler, stirring it carefully and carefully while heating:
  1. When the wax has completely melted and turns into a homogeneous mass, add a few drops of food coloring and, if desired, aromatic oil. Mix thoroughly until you get the color you want:
  1. Be sure to wear gloves so as not to burn your hands! Slowly, in a thin stream, so as not to move the wick from the center, pour the molten wax into a cup:
  1. When the container is completely filled with wax, it must be allowed to cool. Necessarily at room temperature, if the candle is cooled in the refrigerator, the wax can spread unevenly and the top layer will not be smooth:
  1. After the wax has cooled and the surface of the candle has become hard and smooth, you can cut off the wick from the stick.

Your wonderful accessory is ready! It can be a great gift for any celebration!
