How to make a hanging chair - a hammock with your own hands: instructions on the photo

Would you like to have a hammock in your home? It is not at all necessary to spend money on a purchase, because making it with your own hands will not be difficult. Such a chair will not only become an exclusive element of the interior, but also provide a comfortable stay.

1. Prepare the fabric

Fold a two-meter piece of fabric in half. Lay the fabric with a fold to your left.

2. Cut off the excess

Measure from above about 40 centimeters from the upper right corner, put a point and connect a line with the lower right corner.

Cut the fabric along the line and unfold.

3. We process the edges of the fabric

Tuck the top (narrow) edge a couple of centimeters, iron, then fold up again and sew.

Sew the bottom edge in the same way.

4. Prepare the side parts of the chair

Now you need to process the side parts of the future chair. The corners on the side of the long edge should be turned inward at an angle of 90 ⁰.

Then it is necessary to bend the edge.

Now fold the edge in half.

Fold the edge again and fasten.

5. Stitching the side parts

On one side and the other, sew the edges of the workpiece with a reinforced seam so that there is room for pulling the rope.

6. Prepare a wooden block

Drill holes in a wooden block. Before the procedure, mark the holes with a marker. There should be two on each side.

The bar can be painted if desired.

7. Decorate the fabric

To make the chair look even more original, you can apply a pattern to the fabric. At this stage you can realize all your creative potential.

It is necessary to apply a drawing on both sides of the fabric, as they will both be visible.
Before proceeding to the next step, the tissue should be allowed to dry thoroughly.

8. Prepare the rope

Tie a strong knot at the end of the rope. Process the ends of the rope with fire so that it does not unfold in the future.

9. Thread the rope on one side of the chair

Thread the rope into the hole in the bar and tie it. Then pull the rope over one edge of the fabric so that the wide side is at the bottom.

10. Thread the rope into the second hole

Then tie the knot at the required height and thread the rope into the second hole of the bar on the same side.

11. Adjust the size of the chair

Leave enough rope on top to hang the chair. Height can be selected as desired. Then thread the end of the rope into the hole on the other side of the bar and tie a knot.
